Another new role: Oracle Database Consultant

My client provides technical consulting, software development and implementation expertise to deliver end-to-end services to customers. They are recruiting a senior Oracle Database Consultant who will be responsible for the specification, design and implementation of Oracle related elements of customer project solutions. The successful candidate will work within a multi-disciplined team and have a key involvement in the Oracle database aspects of application solutions.
Responsibilities of Oracle Database Consultant
Provide key input into our pre-sales and consultancy processes
Define and implement Oracle database solutions including scalable, high availability, etc.
Work efficiently as part of a multi-disciplined solution team consisting of application, solution, network, security, and system architects.
Define and implement best-fit Oracle database design as part of total J2EE or .Net based solutions.
Drive innovative solutions demanded by complex requirements
Problem solve complex database issues and implement optimal solutions
Skills
5+ years Oracle database experience
Strong Oracle solution skills, including knowledge of specifying and implementing solutions.
Strong knowledge of networking, security, systems especially Microsoft, HP-UX and Linux based and ability to work closely with specialists in these areas.
Strong experience of database design including use of modelling tools
Strong experience with all aspects of database security
Strong commercial Oracle 9i, 10g, 11i experience
Experience implementing Oracle RAC solutions
Experience using Oracle replication and DataGuard
Strong knowledge of the broader Oracle product family
Experience doing native and non-native database upgrades/data migration
Experience with Oracle database profiling/tuning/optimization
Knowledge of Oracle J2EE software such as Oracle Forms and Reports, iAS, etc.
Experience using native and 3rd party reporting products
Strong experience using PL/SQL, scripting, etc.
Strong experience using Enterprise Manager and various Oracle tools
Experience of Data Architecture Design - logical and physical data modelling
Experience in designing high transaction, performant database systems
Professional Oracle Certification is of benefit.
